London - One Week On

I have now been in London for 8 days - what a mixture.

Peace and calm
  • at Kew Gardens - Sue I have lots of pictures of frames for plants,
  • Hampstead Heath and Kenwood House
  • Candlelight Concert at St Martins in the Fields

Noise, very loud music

  • traffic
  • most shops
  • on the buses.
  • Soho at night

I said I needed a phrase book - a list of prices outside a hairdressing salon in Kew

ladies dry carving (regular) £107

ladies dry carving (thick) £127

It was a hairdressing salon.

While having coffee at Hampstead Heath village I saw a red double decker bus with bouquet of flowers and white ribbon on front, park across the road. A few minutes later a couple, likely to be bride and groom (very elegant) and a group of others very stylishly dressed for a Saturday afternoon came and boarded the bus. There happened to be 3 young women busking with violins playing near where the bus stopped.

Hi Pat Still enthralled by your diary. I've been off line for a while ie in Tassie!! We had a great family reunion. Returning to Sydney was like another planet after Hobart.Hope you enjoy Looe and manage some walks along the Nat Trust coastal tracks. Manly is wet, cold and wild. Our tenants from Hell have given notice for Truro. Just about to watch The Weeping Camel on TV, so shall think of you. Kerry
